Join the Art Tours bus for the day to discover the fantastic art and art history of Auckland’s magical ‘West’.
Visit McCahon House, Te Toi Uku – the Crown Lynn Museum, Te Uru Contemporary Art Gallery to view the Anne McCahon exhibition and , time permitting, Corban Estate Art Centre.
Departing to McCahon House to visit the original home of Colin McCahon and family in Titirangi. The McCahon family lived in Titirangi from 1953 to 1959. We have timed this tour to coincide with the recently opened exhibition at Te Uru which focuses on the work of Anne McCahon, Colin’s wife. Take a break for an early lunch here.
This afternoon we visit Te Toi Uku, the home of the Crown Lynn Museum and site of Ambrico Kiln in New Lynn.
The last stop will be Corban Estate Arts Centre to encounter the current exhibition and all going well a quick afternoon tea break before heading back to town.
We should be back in town at around 4.30pm.
